RECENTLY ADDED

We're excited to announce Recently Added, a new series exploring the string quartet works of contemporary composers. Each year, we will select three living composers we feel have made significant contributions to the repertoire, and we'll celebrate their work by performing their complete string quartets.

Season one will take place at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, featuring the music of Caroline Shaw on December 11 at 5PM, Michael Ippolito on February 19 at 8PM, and John Adams (whose complete works we recorded for our Fellow Traveler album) on April 2 at 3PM.

CONCERTS

Caroline Shaw

Sunday, December 11 at 5PM
National Sawdust

Our very first "Recently Added" concert will feature the brilliant composer and our friend, Caroline Shaw. In 2013 she became the youngest recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for music for her work "Partita for 8 voices". We became interested in Caroline because of her prolific and amazing string quartet output. Her sense of wonder and joy pours over her works, and we are so delighted to share them with the world!
